FYP Idea developments(iii) and working progress

Since the whole concept of sculpture making is inspired from the loneliness and unconfident on myself during exchange life in Beijing, and realized the individual also experienced this sense of feeling due to many external limitations but not only the individual self during days in Hong Kong in my grandpa funeral. Then, the picture of sticked wheelchair sculpture was existed to visualized this core experience. At that moment, I do believe the only way to release myself is to reconfirm myself through work out the imagination.  

Reason to work out FYP in Beijing:

During these 2 weeks, after the end of all examinations and chinese flute performances, I was struggled a lot in whether I returned to Hong Kong or stayed in Beijing for executing my Final Year Project. Both of them have their pros and cons.

In Hong Kong, there is a imitation on sculpture size due to lack of space and skill, but the cost of FYP is relatively lower with wider connections on different aspects within this tight schedule. However,  when facing lots of emotional fluctuation,  fear on unfamiliar environment and people, concern on safety and traffic problems, high transportation cost...  I have to overcome these challenges instead of escape. Even the outcome is not as good as expectation but still, I try to break out those fears and limitations in unfamiliar Beijing, which can complete the whole concept and development during the days in exchange. 

They are totally different experience and outcome resulted.  

Since I could not confirm my decision, I searched, asked and negotiating with people about the production park of FYP, including place and techniques in both Hong Kong and Beijing...I was too focus on the process of production in the early stage of progress but never considered whether is it the best way to present and placement problem. 

Finally, I decide to make this artwork in Beijing after a week. 

In Beijing, I spent much time to develop and build up new connections for this work , it is worth to gain this experience . 

Reflectiveness and difficulties : 

Somehow, I realized the crucial point of my FYPt is not only focus on how details and nice craftsmanship of the final sculpture , or whether the audience could understand the core message immediately . Actually, the most important thing should be documenting my reflectiveness and respond during the process of creation so that it could be a true therapy through making artwork.
